All things come to an end…

The semester is coming to an end and so will our blog posts. So, it’s the right time for me to take a look back at the posts I wrote and reflect on what I discovered, what I have learnt and what might be helpful in the future.

Why do we behave the way we behave

As I promised last time, today I will be writing about neurobiological differences between introverts and extroverts.

Hopefully, you remember that building a team could be difficult since from the very first beginning we tend to exclude people who do not behave like we think they have to behave and act. They do not fit into the benchmark of the extroverted human beings or maybe they are too extreme extroverted. We do not want them in our teams, because we created the prejudices that they may are lazy, stupid, counterproductive and would slow down the overall team process, but this does not have to be the case! The issue of team building

Finding me lately often writing about teamwork and the differences of introversion and extroversion and how to pay attention to these people in companies, I would now like to deepen that topic because such character traits like introversion come not from nowhere. It seems very important to me to know what is behind the typical behavior we just can observe on others and try to understand better why they are doing things like they just do.

More than just a Friend

When I wrote my last post on the fascinating relationship between horses and humans, I already gave you a hint about my topic for this week. I thought about linking that relationship to business ideas and the other day at my riding club, an idea came up to my mind as I was watching our weekly therapy lesson. Working animals! This concept is very interesting, for there are a variety of animal jobs, such as therapist, rescuer, or watchdog. I will explain the concept of animal jobs, their goals, and their implementation, concentrating on animal therapy. (more…)

When all of a sudden the world stops PART II

Background

This post is again going to be about depressions due to the fact that apparently you are as interested in this topic as I am. Your comments brought up some really good questions that I would like to discuss further. (more…)

The Magic about Horses

In my recent posts I have written a lot about horseback riding, the treatment of the horses, and new innovations. Now I would like to concentrate on that fascinating animal behind the sport, which engages in that magical relationship between horse and rider. (more…)

When all of a sudden the world stops

Since we wrote quite some articles about emotions and feelings while practicing sports there is still one aspect which we have not discussed in detail yet:

What if emotions overwhelm you in a negative way and there is an always present state of low mood? Depression is one of the most common reaction to certain life events but still it should not be taken as a short period breakdown-there is a lot more behind that. (more…)

Feel the difference and relieve yourself of stress

In our current society stress is a common phenomenon. I have been under stress for the last week or at least I felt uneasy. It`s a terrible feeling even more when falling into sleep is extremely problematic. I am not relaxed at all since thousands of thoughts are on my mind.

But what happened that I feel that way, which I haven’t felt for a long period of time? I think I know what happened!

It is ok to show emotions, darling

In my recent blogpost I wrote about adrenaline, but no worries if you haven’t read this one as I am going to think a little bit further this time: emotions in sports.

Different sports and different situation such as being in training or having a competition evoke different feelings. Since my blogmates all practice different sports I interviewed them and tried to understand what they feel and think while jogging, riding, or playing tennis. (more…)

Introverts – indispensable team members

The last days, I found myself without motivation to write my promised post about teamwork applied to introversion. But today I got it back as I saw that at least one person liked my last post. Isn’t it enthralling that only such a simple thing (someone is pressing the like button) can be motivating? I think it is, what Anika mentioned about motivation in her post: “Together we can do it”. Knowing that there are people outside, who appreciate what I wrote, since it was something of personal interest to me, motivates me to continue. (more…)
